Founded in the fall of 2006, ODI began as a simple classroom project at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
The task presented to ODI founder Justin Van Denend was to choose and research any topic in modern day medicine. Van Denend was then to present this information in a format targeted towards an audience, which he chose to be the general public.
Due to Van Denend's personal experiences as well as diligent reasearch and surveys of Carnegie Mellon Students, Faculty and Staff, Organ Donation was chosen as the topic.
ODI has grown since the inception of this idea, to encompass a state by state listing of how to become an organ donor, as well as to contain an extensive FAQ, answering many common questions the general public has with regards to the organ donation process.
ODI can be contacted at any time with further questions at contact@organdonationinformation.org.
Look for an Organ Donation Forum to be added before the end of the Calendar Year.
ODI is and will always remain a not-for-profit information source.
